  9. The Brain is an advanced neural network simulator that is simple
  10. enough to be used by non-technical people, yet sophisticated enough
  11. for serious research work.  Based upon the backpropagation learning
  12. algorithm, The Brain allows you to train the computer to learn what
  13. you want it to learn.  The Brain gives you a glimpse into the future
  14. of computing.

  16. With The Brain, you can create, train, and test your own neural
  17. networks.  Three sample networks have been included with this
  18. distribution package:
  19. - a network to recognise the numerals 1, 2, and 3.
  20. - a network to process the logical AND function.
  21. - a network to process the logical XOR function.

  23. The manual outlines the features and capabilities of The Brain
  24. as well as providing you with an overview of the concepts and
  25. applications of neural networks.

  27. The Brain requires 512K memory and MS-DOS or PC-DOS version 3.20 or
  28. later (versions for other OS's and machines are available).  The
  29. program can be run on an XT with one floppy drive but a 386 (with
  30. maths coprocessor) or higher is required for serious use of The Brain.
